Nancy J. Shannon M.D., Ph.D., I.S.H.R.S.– Bosley Physician
Dr. Nancy Shannon joined Bosley Detroit with an impressive background and experience in the medical field. She received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1981. She continued at the University and later received her doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology in 1986 and her Medical Degree in 1990.
Dr. Shannon was Research Director at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint Michigan and then became Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University, Department of Medicine.
In 2000, Dr. Shannon returned to Michigan State University for a Residency in Internal Medicine. She completed her residency in 2002 and began her own private practice in Haslett, Michigan, the following year. Her practice provided both internal medicine and aesthetic medicine, which included hair replacement surgery and other cosmetic procedures. In 2007, Dr. Shannon decided to limit her practice to hair replacement surgery. She chose to become a Troy physician at Bosley Medical Group- the world's leader in Hair Restoration.
Dr. Shannon trained in the Bosley system of Hair Transplantation under Medical Director Ken Washenik, M.D., Ph.D. and Associate Medical Director Edwin Suddleson, M.D.
Aside from being a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, Dr. Shannon is a member of the American Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Ingham County Medical Society and the American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine. She is licensed to practice medicine in Michigan, California, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
